Michael White knew at a young age he wanted to be in radio. Listening to the Los Angeles Dodgers in the late 1970's and their announce Vin Scully on air and Chick Hearn calling the Lakers, Mike knew what he wanted. After earning his Radio merit badge in Boy Scouts, and building a make shift transmitter that reached from the living room to the kitchen in his home, he was hooked. Michael began doing voice overs in his late 20's for local businesses radio spots as well as hosting or Emcee'ing events. Mom always said he had a face for radio. Michael Started in terrestrial radio here in Texas at a local community FM station in 2010. There, I met some of the most wonderful artists in the Texas music scene in studio and the opportunity to talk with them and hear their stories. I knew that it was much more than just the songs, it was THEIR stories behind the music. The Who, When, Where, How, What and Why of each song, is meant for the listener to FEEL the music, LIVE the stories and get the picture that the artist is painting you.  We wanted to do more than just play music, we wanted to play the songs from artists you haven't heard of yet, some you know well, and hopefully expand the listeners genera of music types along the way. They say Music is Medicine, and do we need a good ol fashioned dose of it every day!
We started the first Live Broadcast from LSA Burger Co. in Denton Texas on Tuesday night. For the next 6 years, we had some of the most amazing artists and surprise guests like Deryl Dodd, Cody Jinks, Randy Travis visited, Michael Martin Murphy, and others. We had the opportunity to introduce artists that have since, become a recognized name in the national market too!  We have been honored and blessed to have so many great artists bless that stage. Following COVID, and the literal closing of Live music, we turned to social media and the Station Take Over on Facebook, allowing artists to commandeer the station for their own live music shows. Following the lock downs, we found ourselves in Mineral Wells where we have been broadcasting live since 2022. Finding a HOME at Rickhouse Brewing, inside The Crazy Water Hotel, we continue to be amazing at the new talent that this music scene is developing and how the established artists become the best mentors to these new artists.
